From the moment my journey began in Mumbai, my heart carried a singular purpose—to stand in the presence of Craig, the mighty super tusker of Amboseli. This was not just another safari; this was a pilgrimage to witness a living legend, a titan of the wild, a masterpiece sculpted by time.

With fewer than 20 super tuskers left on Earth, Craig is an icon—a national and international treasure, the most photographed elephant on the planet. But for me, it was not enough to admire him through the lens of others. I wanted my own moment, my own story, my own photograph to tell the tale of his majesty.

And then, there he was.

Emerging from the acacia-dotted wilderness, Craig strode into view, a vision of sheer magnificence. The air around us thickened with awe. His near-ground-touching tusks curved like celestial relics, his presence alone commanding reverence. It was an emotion beyond words—pure, overwhelming, electric. One of my fellow photographers checked his smartwatch, his heart rate surging into dangerous levels. Such was the intensity of the moment.

And then, as if nature conspired to grant me perfection, Craig positioned himself against the backdrop of Africa’s tallest peak—Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Goosebumps.

Disbelief.
